This garden soil sifter is made from repurposed materials. The racks themselves are made from herb drying racks left in my barn by the previous owner who grew and sold dried herbs and flowers. Since we don't do that work here I thought they might serve another purpose and they worked out great for soil sifters!.
These garden soil sifters are made from repurposed spruce and pine. I have replaced the original bug screen in the bottom with 3/8" mesh hardware cloth. The legs are made from repurposed wood that I get from job sites and sometimes old furniture that I pick up that is at the end of it's service life with no hope of redemption. The leg height is 28". Being made of repurposed materials each one is a little different. The sizes are standard however. They all will be about 16"W x 28" long or tall as you interpret it. They ship with the legs removed to cut down on the box size and shipping costs. All hardware for assembly is included. A short assembly video is provided here. I made one for my mom to start because she's elderly and can't spend too much time on her knees pulling weeds and shaking the soil off of them one plant at a time. She uses the sifter to roughly pull up weeds and throw them in it. Then she can stand up and sift off the soil and have the weeds separated for composting and the soil is returned to the garden.
