CUSTOM FURNITURE BUILDING
Each job that comes into the shop is unique. Most begin as napkin sketches and others are just ideas people have and need someone creative to sketch out and build. I enjoy every step of the process – from collaborating with clients to get an understanding of their vision, design and material selection, fabrication, finishing, final assembly and installation. For me, figuring out how a project will be built, how it will work and how it will look once installed or placed is just good customer service and fun through and through.
The majority of my shop work is for existing clients and references from them, people who have come to know the quality of what I do in the field and in the shop and appreciate my high level of detail and customer service. The most satisfying part of the work I do whether it’s putting siding on a house or building a “one of” cabinet or furniture piece is delivering the piece or finishing the work on site and seeing how happy people are knowing they got a nice job done by someone who cares.

An important point to make about custom, "one of" furniture. It cost money. All projects begin with rough lumber from the mill and then milled in-house to the desired thicknesses and widths for the project.
So, if you are thinking of a custom piece of furniture to fit in a special place in your home or office and the baseline price you're thinking off was based on something you saw on IKEA or Amazon etc. then you're usually starting in the wrong place for the idea. The good news is, the things I make will last a very, very long time barring a fire or severe physical damage so they are investments and things you can pass along to others through time.
