Made to Audubon specifications with additional features for bird comfort, safety and longevity, these wonderful items come made with a replaceable outer roof covering to deflect heat and a vented sub-roof to let the heat out and a vented bottom to allow air flow through the house to keep the birds cool in this increasingly hot weather we get during the summer months nowadays. The picture of the babies was taken from inside one of my boxes summer 2022, one of the hottest on record.

My ​Blue Bird Houses are made to Audubon specifications with additional features for bird comfort, safety and longevity. The new version, featured here, is a little taller and has the improved exterior roof made from a glue up using marine epoxy instead of one large piece of wood that can warp and check. So, far all the previous ones I've checked on haven't been a problem but I'm always looking for ways to improve on what I do. This blue bird house is made with a replaceable roof and vented under roof to let the heat out and a vented bottom. The side door opens for clean out and inspection. They have slots on the inside to make it easier for the birds to climb in and out and look out the window before they leave and make sure there are no threats waiting for them or approaching. They have additional butt blocks the opening to keep cow birds, squirrels and other predators from messing with the inhabitants.  All are made from white cedar from a local sawmills here in New England and assembled with weatherproof screws for disassembly or roof replacement should you need that years from the day you put it outside. The roof is made over sized to shed rain and increase the durability and longevity of the house and keep the hot sun off the top of the house!  ​These are available for local pickup here in New Haven as well as for shipping anywhere in the US.
